Volunteer Opportunities

The Sanbornton Historical Document Foundation is undertaking a pioneer effort to digitize all the historical and contemporaneous documents of our rural New Hampshire community. To achieve our goal of providing a Digital Library of Sanbornton Historical Records for those interested, we need to recruit and train a score of volunteers.

We need people with a passion for historical records and some time on their hands!

Historical Digital Projects:

A History of Sanbornton NH by Moses T Runnels - We need volunteers to scan Volume II.

Minutes of Meetings of the Settlers from 1749 to 1771 prior to the Incorporation of the Town - We need volunteers to transcribe these handwritten minutes to create searchable electronic files.

Marriages, Births, Deaths Ledger labeled 1824 - We need volunteers to organize records by year and name to create a searchable electronic file. The earliest birth in this ledger was 1755.

Contemporaneous Document Projects

Selectman Minutes 2006 - 2007 - We need a volunteer to verify approved minutes, scan if not available electronically and prepare for adding to the Sanbornton Public Collection and the Digital Library.

Skills necessary are some basic computer skills: word processing, and scanning. All volunteers receive training as needed and can work at home or at our workstation at the Sanbornton Library.
